Who doesn't love them some Sweeney? I nearly made this my Christmas card by putting a bloody Santa hat on the floor and retooling the lyrics to "A Little Priest" but I couldn't come up with enough rhymes for Claus o_o
Anyway, some quickie Sweeney Todd love. Helena is fun to look at but she's no Angela Lansbury when it comes to Mrs. Lovett (of course sweeney!depp makes me need new underwear omg restart my heart lol ill show you what of mine u can shave mr todd).
Merry Christmas, DeviantArt peeps! Eat someone you love this holiday season.
i never liked this story... but i really do want to see the film. gorgeous work. i love your pallette and your simplified graphic style for the background esp. great textures.

See, I haven't seen the movie yet (was supposed to Friday, but the area was too crowded thanks to damn last-minute shoppers) but I have seen the version with Angela Lansbury. I love her portrayal of Lovett, but I just think Helena Bonham Carter is so gorgeous, I can't help but be a bit biased in her favor... >>
BEAUTIFUL card!

That is.. wonderful. I loved the play so much, I'm hoping they don't kill it in the movie, but you're right Johnny as Sweeny is enough to prod me to go. I love the contrast of the black and grays and the red.

This is absolutely delightful. I do love Angel Lansbury, but...I really think Helena stole the show. She's just so terrific. But...movie aside, this piece is intense and gorgeous. Very well done. The shadowed area of Sweeney's eyes and the colors are incredible. asdfbgrnhmjh you've rendered me stupid with love for this. D:

If you know where that quote is from, I
also dig how you drew Tod's expression, and nice handling of greyscale + red.
